What are the studio hours?

We are generally open Tuesday to Friday from 9 to 5.  We are available evenings and Saturdays, however that is by appointment only.  We do strongly recommend making an appointment or calling us before you come down during our regular hours as we also do location shooting, so the studio can be closed during our regular hours or we may be booked with another appointment.

Do you require a deposit when I book my session?

All portrait sessions require a 50% deposit at the time of booking.  This can be done by phone with a Visa or MasterCard.  Cancellation of any session with less than 48 hours notice, excluding extreme situations or weather for outdoor sessions, will result in the forfeiture of your session deposit.  A beach or cottage session requires a 72 hour cancellation notice.

When and how can I see images from my session?

Once your session is done, we can usually have the images ready for you to view within a week.  An Image Presentation appointment will be booked for you to come down to the studio to view the images on our projection screen.  Due to the time involved with our Image Presentations, should you feel the need to come in for a second or more Image Presentations, there will be a $100 charge for each additional presentation.

Who should come to the Image Presentation?

We suggest that the “decision” makers should be present at the Image Presentation.  We recommend, if at all possible, to arrange to leave small children at home so that you may focus all your attention on choosing your cherished portraits.  If all the key people in making the decision about your order is present and you order at the time of your initial Image Presentation, you’ll save a return trip to our studio, save the fee for a second presentation and you will receive your completed order more quickly.

What is the Image Presentation?

An Image Presentation is when you return to the studio to view the proofs of the images that were taken at your session.  We’ll be able to show you what your wall portraits will look like and we’ll spend time working with you to create a collection for your wall, a memory album, gift portraits etc. to fit your specific needs. We can also explain how cropping, toning, artwork and formatting can affect your finished portraits.  Please allow 90 minutes for this visit.  For those scheduling 2 or more viewing times, a charge of $100 will be added to your order.  To insure good communication, the person paying for the order will need to be present at the time the order is placed.

When can I expect my order?

Your portraits will be ready in 4-6 weeks. (Custom products may require an additional 2 weeks.)  At times orders may be completed before the estimated time of 4-6 weeks, but should you need to “rush” your order, options start at $20 per image, per size.  Rushed prints are finished within two weeks.

When do I pay for my order?

Your order goes into production once 50% of the total is paid.  The remaining balance is due when your order is picked up.  For your convenience, we accept Debit, MasterCard, Visa, Cash and Cheque.  Payment plans are available upon request.  No part of an order can be picked up without full payment.  Orders left at the studio for more than 30 days will be charged a minimum $50 per month storage fee.  If you would like to have your finished order sent to you, please add $35 for shipping & handling ($50 if this includes a print 16 x 20 or larger).
Your personal cheque is welcome.  Should your cheque be returned as NSF (Non-sufficient funds), you will be billed a NSF fee of $30.  Payment by cheque constitutes acceptance of these terms.

Why can’t I get my pictures on a CD?

Your portraits are made by some of the finest craftsmen (a Master Photographer, professional labs, custom framing, hand made archival albums and folios) in the industry.  Our studio invests heavily in training, education and equipment to provide you with the highest quality photography to be found anywhere.  High quality that cannot be duplicated or copied without loss of sharpness, color, clarity and permanence. Photographers (and all artists) make their living, by selling enlargements of their work.  Canadian Copyright Law prohibits any copying or scanning of a professional created photograph for any use without written permission of the photographer.  Please respect the law and our livelihood.  Thank you! 🙂

We’re here to help you get the very best photographs.  If you have any questions or comments regarding your portraits, feel free to contact us any time by phone or e-mail.  We truly appreciate your business and look forward to working with you!
